Structural engineering

In Structural engineering, we specialize in the analysis of steel, aluminium and other metal structures.  A computer model of the structure is prepared and loads are applied to the model.  The stresses, displacement and the natural frequency of the structure can be obtained.  We simulate the loading conditions the structure would be subjected to during its working life and establish whether it is structurally adequate.


Cable Structures

Cables provide an alternative method of construction.  Lightweight and flexible structures can be built using cables and structural steel or aluminium.  Cables are used in structures spanning large distances.  They are used in the construction of large span roof girders, shell-like roofs and shade structures.

Light weight steel is commonly used in framing residential properties.  The steel used can vary from 0.42 to 0.95mm base metal thickness.  Wall panels, roof trusses and floor panels are generally fabricated in factories.  Light weight panels can be handled by 2 persons and do not require the hire of cranes when they are being erected.  Unlike timber, steel frames are not attacked by termites.
